Guatamala
Guatemala was freed of Spanish colonial rule in 1821. During the second half of the 20th century, it experienced a variety of military and civilian governments as well as a 36-year guerrilla war. In 1996, the government signed a peace agreement formally ending the conflict, which had led to the death of more than 100,000 people and had created some 1 million refugees.

Guatamal is slightly smaller than Tennessee. It is hot and humid in lowlands but cooler in the highlands.

Banana Bread - Bread

Ingredients:
4 cups bananas, mashed
1/2 cup coconut milk
1/2 cup butter, melted
3 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup raisins (optional)
1/2 cup cashews, chopped (optional)

 Directions
In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt.
Stir in bananas, coconut milk, vanilla and butter.
Fold in raisins and cashews, if desired.
Pour into a greased 5x9-inch loaf pan.
Bake at 350 F for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until tested done.
